Sarkodie organised his annual Rapperholic concert on December 25, 2020, and Ghanaian Artiste of The Year, Kuami Eugene was not present.

It would seem as an odd development as they both just collaborated to release the banging track "Happy Days" shortly before the general elections on December 7.

Sarkodie officially backed Akufo-Addo in the lyrics of his 'Happy Days' track.

He rapped that since Akufo-Addo has implemented a number of good policies that are benefitting all Ghanaians, he should be strongly considered for a second term in office, specifically mentioning the free Senior High school as well as the uninterrupted power supply to homes and industry.

“We all spoke against the dumsor (erratic power supply) and the high inflation rate and so if these have been solved at the moment with Ghanaians also enjoying free SHS, then all I can say is that Nana Akufo-Addo should continue for another four years,” he said.

After the track entered mainstream and rumours of fee being paid to Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene for the track began to circulate, Kuami Eugene came out to say that he was not aware of the fact that Sarkodie was using the song as an endorsement for the NPP.

This drew a lot of criticism from the public, who pointed out that Sarkodie did not put a gun to his head for the track. P

They accused Kuami Eugene of hypocrisy and this might have accumulated to become the driving factor behind his exclusion, as Sarkodie is not one know to be too forgiving after being betrayed multiple times.

Before this, there were rumours that the two artistes were at loggerheads after Kuami Eugene piped Sarkodie to the Artiste of the Year awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Kuami Eugene was quick to reveal after his win that Sarkodie did not call him to congratulate him after he beat him to the award. He stated that he did not expect Sarkodie to contact him because he might not be very happy that a "small boy" like him defeated him.

He said this in an interview with Doreen Avio and Mercury Quaye on Cruise Control on Hitz FM.

Now, he has been altogether excluded from the Rapperholic concert despite having multiple hits with Sarkodie.

It will be noted that Kuami Eugene in previous years had performed at the Rapperholic Concert.
