Africans only support foreign countries for causes that don't concern them - Shatta Wale rebukes as he joins battle against SARS
Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has sent a strong message to Nigerians over their #ENDSARS struggle, the Special Anti Robbery Squad that has been mistreating young citizens of the country for the past few years.

Although the Nigerian government initially listened to the outcry of its citizens and dissolved the unit, the Nigerian youths are still protesting because the government made it known that members of the unit would be reformed into another special unit called SWAT.

The dancehall artiste wrapped up the message in what he knows how to do best, a track which he released two days ago titled "Fuck SARS".

In the song, Shatta Wale, specifically mentioned how Africans don't support other Africans inside Africa. How they'd rather support other people in foreign countries for causes that don't concern them.

He made this reference in relation to how everyone in Africa seemed to support the George Floyd movement. When everyone in Africa made independent protests in their countries to fight the racial injustice in America set upon by police brutality.

A trend that was labelled the "Black Lives Matter" movement which lasted for months.

Shatta Wale lamented that he cannot understand why Africans aren't protesting for the exact same thing in Nigeria, where police brutality is severing the precious lives of prominent Africans.

In the song, he wrote:

When we are follow you. We tell them say fuck sars
What do you feel when you kill another blackman
Me say fuck sars
And when they blog like that
Fuck sars
And when they blog like that
Fuck sars

Well, this a little message I want to send the people of Nigeria
And the rest of the world
Yeah Africa
It’s our duty to make sure we support Africans you no
Sometimes I wonder why things happen in America
And Europe and black people support
Buh when is Africa, Africans don’t want to support it
Tell them to end sars
Stop sars
Stop the blood …. Killing innocent people
