Ada Tidal waves victims  complain of not having receive relief items

Recent tidal waves in the area are calling for assistance to get their lives back

Residence of Anyamam, a fishing Community within the Ada West  District of the Greater Accra Region that suffered the devastating effects of the recent tidal waves in the area is calling for assistance to get their lives back.

The residents, who after almost two weeks lost their livelihood to the disaster were left with no option but to appeal for assistance from civil society organizations and benevolent institutions to come to their aid said they have not had any relief items purported to be distributed by the officials from the National Disaster Management Organization(NADMO).
Master Enoch Ashangor, an eyewitness who confirmed this to Soireenews.com over the phone indicated that victims at Akplabanya, a neighboring community whose victims had the relief items rather turned down the offer.
The victims claimed the items did not meet their demands.
According to them, what they needed was a sea defense to enable them to get on with their lives instead of food items.
They added that with a sea defense, one could rest assured that their lives and livelihood would be at safety to enable them to go about their normal routine.

It will be recalled that less than two weeks ago, dozens of houses and residents were faced with the devastating effects of tidal waves which rendered many homeless and properties destroyed at Akplagbanya, a  community in Sege within the Greater Accra Region.

The communities most affected include Akplagbanya Masisi, Market, and Mayin Houses including the Akplagbanya chief palace were not left out of the devastating effects.
The only access route into the Akplagbanya community was not sped, compelling drivers to resort to alternate routes to the community.

Canoe operators have not been left out as their vessels drew shore have all been submerged in the water as they count their losses.
