About 50 Suspected Criminals Arrested At Ababoa Forest in Tamale

The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested about fifty (50) suspected criminals today Saturday at the Tamale Ababoa Forest.

Their structures were as well destroyed by the men from the regional police command.

The Ababoa forest has become an abode for criminals and drinkers for a decade now.

The Crime Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, Superintendent of Police Bernard Baba Ananga told Journalists after the arrest that the suspects had patched up camps in the forest to carry out ill activities.

According to him, they have turned the forest into a market to do Prostitution and narcotic trade thinking authorities cannot come for them.

He said police on several occasions affected arrest on hardened criminals in the forest including one wanted criminal called Anampana who has been transferred to the Upper East Region after his arrest at the forest.

He said the Regional Police Commander has pledged the continues of the operation.

Supt Baba revealed that 29 motorbikes, 15 mini polythene bags, machetes, crowbars, scissors, and cannabis were retrieved from the suspects.
