Member of Parliament Appeals For Upscaling Of Salaga South  Roads

To facilitate the upscaling of Agricultural production in the Salaga South Municipality of the Northern Region, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the area, Honourable Ibrahimah Mohammad Zuwera has decried the deplorable nature of roads in her constituency.

The roads, according to her, when given a facelift, would provide a source of employment to the people of the area.
Largely, according to her, the majority of the people within that part of the country are agrarian hence making their roads motorable would inure to the benefit of the people.

Making road network motorable, would encourage the local farmers in the area to upscale their production.

Adding his voice to the statement, the Ranking Member of the Agricultural Committee of Parliament, Honourable Eric Opoku alleged that the country currently imports cassava and cassava-related products from China.

He further added that as a result of bad roads network, Ghana imports a total of 43% of onion from Niger.

He called on the current government to put in place measures to mitigate the road challenges.

However, the Member of Parliament of Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region, Honourable Frank Annoh-Dompreh while debunking the allegations demanded evidence to that effect.
