The statement further added that being the last year of the Akufo Addo-Bawumia government, and with the Ayawaso West Wuogon disturbances as a focal learning point and the killing of eight more people in order to win the 2020 general elections, there is the need for electorates to stand ready to vote out the NPP government.

Five years on:NDC calls on Akufo Addo to implement the Ayawaso West Wuogon Enquiry Recommendations

To bring to an end to the utter darkness that has befallen Ghana since the coming into power by Akufo Addo-Bawumia, the NDC calls on electorates to stand ready to kick out what it termed insensitive Akufo Addo-Bawumia NPP government.

The call stemmed from the imprints of barbaric activities that had befallen the homeland since the assumption of power by Akufo Addo-Bawumia NPP. Notable amongst them are the infamous Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election where many electorates sustained life-threatening injuries from the indiscriminate firing of sophisticated assault rifles that the state-sanctioned terrorists wielded, and the intentional killing of eight innocent Ghanaians at the 2020 general elections.

The NDC sees that as unfortunate and warns that that must not be repeated in the politics of Ghana, particularly the upcoming elections and future ones as well. In a statement signed by the Honourable Fifi Kwettey, General Secretary copied to Soireenews.com, the NDC bemoaned the sad happening that has stained the country's young democracy with the blood of innocent Ghanaians adding, "Ghana deserves to develop in peace and unity at all time".

"In the face of this, the NDC calls on the Akufo Addo-Bawumia government to immediately carry out the recommendations of the Emil Short Commission of Enquiry to bring quick and lasting relief to the victims of that dastardly event", the statement indicates in part.
