18 Confirmed Dead in Buipe, Tamale Highway Accident 
Two Yutong busses collide on Buipe-Tamale Highway

Eighteen (18) people have been reported dead in a Fatal Road Accident in the Savannah Region on the Buipe-Tamale Highway in the early hours of today.

The acting Public Relations officer for the Savannah Region, Inspector Adjekum Owusu who confirmed the statement said a Yutong bus traveling from Kumasi to Zebila with registration number GT 3345-16 collided with another Yutong bus with registration number AC 1699-20 which was also heading towards Kumasi from Garu.

He admitted that 18 passengers consisting of 14 male adults, 3 females, and a female child died instantly.

He told that other passengers sustained a serious decree of injuries, therefore they were rushed to the Buipe Polyclinic and Holistic Medicare Hospital for emergency treatment.

The deceased persons, accordinng to him have been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The actual cause of the accident is not known.
