The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu has disclosed that Mosques should reopen from 19th of June while Churches can resume too on the 21st of June.

He made this statement in a press briefing at the State House today.

He however said the crowd at worship centers must not be more than 40% of their capacity.

He also stated that children below 15 and the elderly from 65 years and above are not permitted at religious gatherings.

He stated; "Churches & Mosques to resume services in Lagos as follows:
Muslim services to resume on 19th June while Christian worship begins on the 21st of June, 2020.

"Children below age 15 not allowed. Religious gatherings are restricted to Fridays and Sundays only.

"All religious centers (churches and mosques) must be 40% of the venue's capacity. No hugging, handshakes, serving of food e.g. the holy communion, etc in any religious centers.

Yesterday, the Lagos State Government had urged religious and social event Centres within the State to commence registration via a designated portal so as to enforce the COVID-19 guidelines of the State.
