Michy, the former girlfriend of dancehall god, Shatta Wale has revealed that she only dated Shatta Wale to be his major source of support, as no one else around him was assisting him at the time.

She made this revelation as a defense to the critics who claimed that she dated Shatta Wale for money and fame.

According to her, the claims cannot be true because Shatta Wale had nothing when she met him. According to her, she fell in love with him purely because she lacked nothing when and there was nothing he could have offered her because he was broke at the time.

“At the time I met him, he had only GH¢17. I wasn’t that kind of girl, where I come from I needed nothing.”

Michy explained that Shatta Wale, who is the father of her son, was living in a run-down apartment in Nima; a one-room space that could not fit a whole family.

“I wish I could describe his room in Nima, this place is ten times bigger than that. His friends were against him, but with all that talent bubbling around him and a big-headed computer,”

The artiste made known that her mother frowned upon her decision to move him with Shatta Wale at the time because she said that musicians have very divisive natures. She said that she just wanted to care for Shatta Wale and explore things with him.

In her opinion, Shatta Wale just needed someone who would care about him and be a source of inspiration to him rather than a source of burden.

“He had a kid at the time but that woman wasn’t really motivating him, I felt that this is someone who needed somebody so let me be that somebody,” she concluded
