Nollywood actress, Bukunmi Oluwashina has finally opened up on the rumour claiming that she is the highest paid Yoruba actress in the industry.

It was rumoured that Bukunmi is the hottest and the most featured actress in the Yoruba movie industry at the moment.

Bukunmi, who recently added movie directing to her career as an actress is said to be the highest paid Yoruba actress at the moment, surpassing the records of the likes of Toyin Abraham, Faithia Balogun, Mercy Aigbe, Iyabo Ojo and others.

During a recent interview, the ever smiling Bukunmi revealed all you probably need to know about the claims.

Her words: "I was actually surprised hearing that recently. But I have no idea about how that came up because we all have our private way of doing this business of a thing. And once I get called for a movie role, I take my time to study the character, and if it a kind of production that has no costumier, I call my personal costumier to get me dresses I could wear for the movie.

"This is because I got to realize some fans do mock celebrities for repeating cloths in different movies. Not knowing it not even an actor's responsibility to provide cloths for themselves. And all our cloths can’t suit for all the roles we get. if we are to buy certain cloths for movies alone, we would end up repeating it over and over. How many audience would you go to their house to explain this to? Before you know it, some people would start abusing Yoruba movie stars not knowing the strees this people go through sometimes to entertain them.

"But the sad part is just that we too don’t get to pay attention to some little but very important things. Just because of this “Market is not doing fine” but I do say, the market shouldn’t be the one controlling us.

"We should be the one controlling the market. Everybody knows I like carrying people’s work on my head like it’s my own movie if I’m part of it. I will post on my social media during shoots, and even after shoot and then run PR for it when the movie is out for people to go watch without the producer getting to be the one to call me to post.

"For me, It’s my responsibility. So, me knowing all of this, I get to put too much into consideration before taking up a role. What would people learn from this story?? Is it a movie I would eventually be proud to run advert or PR for? I even noticed that anytime I post any work I featured in on my page, 60% of my fans repost, telling people to go watch.

"I don’t know why, but I’m grateful for that. So I eventually get to work hand in hand with some Production Managers or even the producers. Let’s do it this way. If this movie gets out and it’s not good, "na all of us dem go abuse".

"I have negotiated with a producer before, it was hard for him. I know but after a long time, he agreed to pay, and after he sent the money, I sent 80% of it back to him and told him to book for another camera instead of the one he told me he would be using, so that we can get a good job done because I love the story.

"He was thinking since he is shooting for online, he could be any camera. What if in 10 years time an organization wants to buy the movie among list of numerous movies, and the movie wouldn’t end up having a chance because the camera quality isn’t up to the standard of that prevent time?

"Sometime we have to work ahead of time, space and technology are moving so fast. So, all i am saying is, I don’t know about this. I just do my own, I don’t know how others get things done or how they charge producers before they appear on screen.

"Am just all about making good movies, for myself and for everyone who gets to feature me in theirs. And that’s all that matters. Either I am lowest or highest paid Yoruba actress at the moment, I don't know because I am not the account officer of my other colleagues",  she said.

The Obafemi Awolowo University graduate of Theater Arts has been dominating the industry especially after she made her first movie appearance in a movie titled 'Ayo Mi' that also featured Gabriel Afolayan.
