Tottenham Hotspur continued their frustrating week at the Amex with another loss against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The visitors conceded their 10th goal in less than a week collecting just six wins from their last 20 matches, while their last away victory in the Premier League occurred back in October.

Mauricio Pochettino made four changes from the Tottenham  side that were hammered 7-2 by Bayern Munich in midweek.

With Serge Aurier suspended, Moussa Sissoko was  shifted to right-back with Christian Eriksen coming into midfield.

Ben Davies replaced Danny Rose at left-back, while Eric Dier partnered Tanguy Ndomebele in midfield with Harry Winks dropping out of the starting line-up.

Erik Lamela was the final change as he came in to replace Dele Alli.

Spurs conceded the first goal in just three minutes of play after an absolute blunder from their captain, Hugo Lloris. It was  the easiest goal Maupay could ever score - Gross played a hopeful cross into the box, but Spurs did not bother at all until Lloris spilled what would've been one of the easiest catches he's ever had to make right on the goal line, gifting Maupay a tap in.

The goalkeeper was stretched off the pitch after injuring himself whiles landing. Gazzaniga took his place after three minutes of delay.

Spurs owed the game and looked for space to break in but there was no way through the well-organized Brighton defence. Mooy eventually won the ball back deep inside his own half before making a clearance down field. Brighton worked the ball across the Spurs' penalty area to Montoya, who played a low cross into the box.

Connolly scored the second for Brighton in the 32-minute. He was the man to get the goal and on his first Premier League start. He initially flicked the ball goal-wards at the near post, forcing Gazzaniga into a really smart save. But the forward got a second bit at the cherry and there was nothing Spurs' substitute goalkeeper could do about it as the 19-year-old converted from close range.

Spurs looked a pale shade of their form from last season after hitting one shot through Eriksen's which was saved easily.

Winks was brought on for Ndombele in the 47-minute as Pochettino expected a quick response in the second half from his side after a change of tactics. Dier joined Alderweireld and Vertoghen in a back three. A chance fell for Spurs in the 69-minute to pull a goal back. Sissoko got to the byline and pulled the ball back into the six yard box. it fell kindly for Son, but he missed his kick with the goal at his mercy.

Aaron Connolly scored the third to deepen Tottenham’s woes in the 65-minute. The forward picked up the ball on the right flank before cutting inside Alderweireld and buried the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Gazzaniga had no chance with that strike.

The fans kept chanting ‘we want seven’ from the Brighton side, a dream repetition of Spurs UEFA Champions League humiliation as the players frustratingly looked on.

Every effort Spurs put out did not work for them before the third goal. They conceded the 10th in the last two matches.

Kane caught inside unto his left foot and got a shot away from 12 yards. Normally you would see the net bulging at this point but the ball sailed high over Ryan's crossbar. Everything seem not working for the visitors.

Connolly was given a standing ovation in the 80-minute. The two-goal hero was replaced by Bissouma.

Tottenham finally worked an opening in the 83rd. Moura had a clean shot on goal but hit it straight at the goalkeeper. Credit to Ryan, he spread himself well to deny Tottenham a way back into the game. They become the only team to have lost more games in all competitions in 2019 than any other English top-flight side, now losing (17) as many games as they've won (17) this calendar year.
