You are the only thing standing in the way of your dreams, GMB Queen Selorm

Queen Selorm Magdalene Gadah, the 2023 Ghana's Most Beautiful (GMB) winner, is urging young people to pursue their goals and put in the necessary effort to make them come true.

You are the only thing standing in the way of your dreams, GMB Queen Selorm

"Your own self-doubt is the only thing preventing you from realizing your dreams," declares Queen Selorm, who declared her unwavering desire to become a GMB queen.

"Since 2016, when I was a senior in high school, I have dreamed about this and have worked towards it. During a thanksgiving ceremony to honor God and celebrate her success on Sunday, November 18, 2023, she informed fellow parishioners at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) - Teshie, "What this (her win) shows is that if you want something and you work hard at it, you will get it."

A committed member of the EPCG Teshie congregation, Queen Selorm is. For the first time since winning the GMB title last month, she was going back to her church. Songs from the EPC hymnal as well as traditional agbadza music and dancing were used to greet her.

She thanked the congregation and the church leadership in her speech for their prayers and support during the competition.

"Thank yous won't be sufficient to express how much God has blessed me. I am appreciative of you all and of God in particular. Kindly keep praying for me and helping me in any other manner you can.

"I wish to work on my project and give thanks to God using this platform. In the islands of the Volta Region, there are numerous underprivileged elementary schools. Since they lack educational resources, I'm concentrating on the islands in the area," she continued.

Her "Say Yes to Education" project aims to supply instructional resources to schools located on Volta Region islands. In addition, Queen Selorm is involved in various initiatives that teach kids about women's empowerment and sexual traditions.

The 2023 GMB reigning queen honored her late mother by dedicating her victory. She would have been present right now. She always watches GMB, but this year she wasn't present to see me. God is the best judge. She said, "I think she is keeping an eye on me wherever she is."

The congregation was led in prayer for Selorm by Rev. Richard K. Nimo, the district pastor of EPCG Teshie. He exhorted her to shine so that young people would be inspired by her and to always be the light wherever she went.
