Ama K. Abebrese is calling for calm concerning the hate that is being directed at celebrities.

This comes after Ghanaians have been criticising celebrities who have been silent over the shooting at Ejura after the death of #FixTheCountry activist Ibrahim Kaaka.

Only a handful, the likes of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Lydia Forson, and a few others have spoken on the unfortunate incident.

The actress has now said that it is not compulsory that celebrities speak on matters like that because everyone has her own way of fighting injustice.

She maintained that everyone has a voice and he/she has a right to use it, therefore everyone must use her voice against the oppression instead of waiting for celebrities to talk.

"While I’d appreciate a lot more celebrity voices on issues of national interest, I also understand that we are all different and handle things differently. You know nothing about people’s personal lives and their struggles so please stop the attacks."

"Do you know how many times I’ve been attacked publicly for sharing my opinion on issues and NOT ONE celeb spoke up for me? Many times. And even though I would have appreciated it, I also grew to understand that many just don’t know how. So please stop guilting people." She explained.

She said this in response to Lydia Forson's tweet which stated that not everyone is going to speak up on social media against oppression.

"Not everyone is gonna speak up and everyone has their own reasons and how they choose to use their voice. Some also choose do things behind the scenes. Not everyone can deal with the public scrutiny that comes with speaking up. We have to let everyone find their own way," Lydia Forson noted.
