VGMA is not our goal; our main concern is winning souls - Daughters of Glorious Jesus

The well-known all-female gospel group Daughters of Glorious Jesus claims that they have never submitted a Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) application.

VGMA is not our goal; our main concern is winning souls - Daughters of Glorious Jesus

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime's Prime Morning, they stated that their main objective as gospel ministers is still to impact people's lives by using music to preach God's word. Winning accolades is not their ultimate goal.

Since winning souls is more important to us than winning awards, we are not interested in selecting forms for the VGMA. They told the host, Roselyn Felli, "We don't want to get sidetracked or stray from our particular calling.

They went on to say that although they won't buy forms to complete, they will still go to the event if they are nominated.

The sisters disclosed that they had been receiving honors from various award programs across the globe without submitting nominations.

"Go ahead and pick it if you want to do it for us; we're good," they said.

The group went on to say that they get inspiration from accounts of how their music have changed people's lives.

They related how a guy who was pronounced dead by medical professionals who were unable to determine the nature of his illness were spared thanks to their song "Nea Yehu Yi."

He claimed to have been searching for us for the past two years but was unsure of where to look.

He said, "The physicians at Korle Bu pronounced him dead because he was unwell. They failed to notice the kind of illness he was afflicted with, so he returned home. One of our songs, "Nea Yehu Yi," was being played on the station when he turned on his radio at home.

"After listening to the song and receiving instructions from the DJ regarding where to obtain the CD, he sent someone to purchase one for himself. Their lead vocalist Cynthia explained, "He listened to the song aloud to himself at home for two weeks, and all he saw was himself being healed."

They claimed that hearing such testimonials inspired them to carry out more deeds to honor the Lord.

The music group has groomed musicians and are still open and willing to train more people in the gospel ministry.
