The leadership of Vegetable Farmers Associations in the two most known tomato growing areas in Ghana thus, Akomadan and Tuobodom have unanimously pleaded with the government to urgently aid them with processing and storage facilities as well as irrigation systems.

Despite the government's promise of One district One factory & Warehouse, One Village One Dam promises, vegetable farmers in Ashanti and Bono East regions are yet to benefit as they still go through a lot of challenges in their farming activities but yet suffer massive losses during harvest.

Nana Appiah Kubi, Chairman of Asuoso Co-operative Vegetable Farmers Society in the Offinso North District of Ashanti region and Mr Takyi Charles "Pepe", Chairman of Tomato Growers Association, Tuobodom in Techiman North district of Bono East region spoke to the media. 

All these revelations came to light when Hortifresh Ghana in collaboration with the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana, EPA, Green Label, Agric Input dealers and other Stakeholders in the tomato production cycle held two (2) separate "Input Fair" programs for tomato farmers at Tuobodom in Techiman North and Asuoso in Offinso North.

Mr Hillarion Nyarko, Agronomist Adviser for Hortifresh Ghana threw more light on the Fair to the media. 

Finally, Ashanti Regional Head of FDA Mrs Nora Narki Teye Labi and Paul Tuolong Techiman North district MOFA Director unanimously advised Farmers on the proper use of agro chemicals and seedlings in order to maximize yields.
