Hon. Benito Owusu Bio has asserted that modern politics is gaining scares as competition for power toughens.

According to him, the killing of the Mfantseman Member of Parliament, Ekow Kwansah Hayford is a threat to the life of Ghanaian politicians especially when the rivalry between opponents keeps beefing up during elections.

He has therefore called on the security intelligence to arrest offenders and make them face strict judgment unlike the accused murders of the former Abuakwa North MP, the late JB Dankwah.

The MP was seeking re-election filed his nomination forms on Thursday, October 8, 2020, only to be killed the next day.

Eyewitness report revealed that the robbers were infuriated when the MP identified himself during their operation which left several passengers injured and was made to get down from his car before shooting him twice.

“Politics has gotten to stage which makes it more threatening,” Hon. Benito revealed last Friday during an ambulance bay commissioning.

“We heard the people involved in the murder were in party car, how can an armed robber get hold of a political party car for such an operation? It means they were politicizing at night.

“I was told he was asked to come down from his car and he did with a further introduction before his demise, so tell me, is this the work of an armed robber? No. it’s not.

“If indeed the act is deliberate, we are pleading unto the security intelligence to get hold of the culprits to face the law. We plead unto the human rights department to stay away from this.

“What happened when JB was killed? His murderer now dictates in prison. Its absolute foolishness and it does not help justice to prevail.

“The extraordinary people are the ones they always take their lives. Both JB and the new MP were nice gentlemen. The late Hayford was a new termer who was very extraordinary and could do well for his people. They have lost a great person ad we ask God to strengthen the family.”
