[PHOTOS]: Prez Akufo-Addo Chairs First ‘Virtual’ Cabinet Meeting in Ghana’s History

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo  Dankwa on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, organized the government’s 80th cabinet meeting via Zoom video call.

This is the first time the country’s cabinet meeting has been held through via virtual meeting.

Akufo-Addo presided over the meeting from the Presidential Villa, where he is said to be in self-isolation over COVID-19 fears.

The president welcomed members of the Cabinet, in hopes that the ‘historic’ meeting would be a success.

 “Members of the cabinet, this is I think the first of such meeting in the history of our government. So we are all part of the historic process. If I look at the Secretary to the Cabinet, I hope it is going to be a successful venture” he said

 

 

The President also held a similar virtual meeting with his 2020 Campaign Communications Advisory Team.

In other developments, President Akufo-Addo has in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Senior High Schools, instructed a sub-committee to look into matters arising from the reopening educational institutions.

The sub-committee is to monitor schools over the next eight weeks as most Senior High School students prepare for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), the Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said.
