Over  100 Students Boycott Classes, Threathen To Shut down School Over Shortage Of Teachers

over 100 School pupils of Breman Essuokor D/A Basic School in the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa District of the Central Region have boycotted classes threatening to shut down the school over shortage of teachers.

Over 100 of these angry pupils with danger bands on their heads with placards with descriptions hits the street of Breman Essuokor with heavy demonstration alerting the Opinion leaders of the community to fight harder for them to get teachers.

Speaking in an interview with soireenews these angry pupils said, the entire school is having only one teacher who teaches at Junior High School from JHS one to JHS three which doesn't promote good teaching and learning.

They added to it that, they have written several letters to the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa District Education Officer for them to give them teachers but all have proved futile


They said, they have written several letters to the Parents Teachers Association and the Chiefs of the community but nothing has been done about it.

They said they are giving the Government one week to give them teachers else they will all stop going to the school but will go to school in a different District.

According to them also, they will make sure the school has been shut down completely till they will get adequate Teachers.

The students, also hinted that the school body is having only one teacher who takes care of teaching and learning.

They then threaten to storm the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa Education office with a massive demonstration to shows their displeasure to the Education Director and others for refusing to assign them with Teachers.

According to them, they won't go to classes until they have gotten teachers.
