Newly-elected NPP Western North Regional Chairman In Fresh Trouble

As trouble continues to loom within the "elephant" family in the Western North Region, the New Patriotic Party's newly-elected Chairman for that Region, Mr. Benjamin Armah has been accused of setting his foot on the path of destruction of the structures of the NPP in the region after the few days he has been elected the chairman.

"Such callous moves by the newly elected Western North Regional Chairman with the backward support of a few selfish individuals if care is not taken would erode the party’s gains in the region and that is why, as a group, we deem it expedient to publicly register our opposition to the said move.

"Friends in the media, it will be recalled that on the 27th May 2022, the party had its 2nd Regional delegates conference for the Election of New Regional Executives as a preparation towards 2024 battle," the group noted.

Addressed by the Secretary of the Western North Patriotic Front, Mr. Prince Sangmoah, and assisted by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the group, Mr. Vincent Yeboah, the group noted that with the stunning leadership of the Honorable Regional Minister, the Chairman of the REGSEC, the event was successful and peaceful.

The group was saddened by the fact that those who anchored their campaign on the back of unity are the very group of individuals “doing the opposite today.“

"It is sad to also note that, ever since results were declared, there have been attempts by the Newly Elected Regional Chairman with the support of some self-seeking political neophytes to subvert the will of the people for their selfish gains.

"This group, we understand, bought a certain defective recommendation purported to have been sanctioned by ADR, which letter sought to restrain Ten Executives of the Aowin Constituency from participating in the Regional Elections," the group said.

According to the group, the strategy was to knock down the Elected Secretary in his home constituency to provide a safe landing for Mr. Samuel Abiaw (Outgone Secretary).

The group noted that "the result (s) of the election which went in favor of Sir Felix Foster Ackah continues to give certain people headaches, heart attack, sleepless night, prostrate disorders and fever and that is the reason, a certain group called WENGA which is being used a smokescreen is on record to have advocated for the annulment of the results of the Secretary position and the treasurer on grounds any sane mind could not decipher."

They argued that 'we want to use this humble opportunity to make it known to the Newly Elected Regional Chairman that we noticed his presence in Accra not for anything but the annulment of results of the Secretary and Treasurer.

It added that "the funny aspect of it is that other Regional Chairmen like Chairman Wontumi are organizing peace and unity dinners and starting unity processes Ours, in this case, is only there at the behest of those who remotely control him for their bidding. 

"Today, the one who mounted a giant campaign on the back of Unity is the same person bidding for the Annulment of certified results in a situation that will bring great disunity and chaos to the party in the region.

"Isn’t this the highest form of dishonesty and insincerity and the opposite of a unity campaign by our regional chairperson," the group asked?

It added that an obvious case of someone has been reduced to the status of a puppet to the extent that he cannot even think independently of himself, adding the irony of a faint soul leading to a distinguished fraternity.

The group reminded the Newly Elected Regional Chairman that the moves he is pursuing would fiercely be resisted with every available tool under the sun. 

'We would not allow a few megalomaniacs to use this newly created region to fortify their interests against the collective interest of the party. Western North is not anybody’s bonafide. Enough of the overtaken," the group stressed.
