The Minority in Parliament (NDC), says it will recommend candidates for the Speaker and other leadership positions in the house when the eighth parliament is instated.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the member of Parliament for North Tongu, explained that the NDC will make up the majority in the eighth parliament based on true collation of the results of the parliamentary elections as said by citi news.

“We are preparing to also have the first Deputy Speaker, and we have a slate. When Parliament convenes, we will bepresenting names for Speaker, for the first Deputy Speaker, and for the Chairmen of Committees. We will not accept this daylight robbery and that is why we are adorned in black today.”

Parliamentary results from the Electoral Commission showed that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has one extra-parliamentary seat which makes them a majority side although the results of one constituency in the Bono East region is yet to be declared.

The members of the NDC has been in denial of the results since the Electoral Commission declared their opposition victorious in the just ended general election

They believe the election outcome was rigged to favor the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and as such are ready to take all the necessary steps to correct the errors.
