Mankata Family Exposed Over Ownership Claims Of  Odumase-Panpanso Land---As Allodial Land Owners Issue Ultimatum To Land Buyers For Regularization Of Documents
Williams Agyekum Acquah Asante, Spokesperson for the family
A warning notice has been sent to the potential land buyers to be mindful not to deal with land transactions with the head, principal members and the entire membership of the Mankata Family living at Panpanso Krokese in the Eastern Region on tracts of lands located at Odumase-Panpanso.

It has been further warned that those who would disobey these directives and go ahead to do land business with these people does so in their own danger.
According to the accredited elders of the Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal family from Odumase (Kodjo Fosu) and Akwamu Akwatin in the Eastern Region who issued the warning to the prospective land buyers, the swathes of 5068 acres of land located at Panpanso in Odumase belongs to them and not for the Mankata family as being claimed by the Head of Mankata family, Mr Samuel Acquah Mankata.

Against this backdrop, Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families who are the allodial owners of the said lands had issued three weeks ultimatum to land buyers to rush to them for regularization of documents.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Accra on Thursday February 23, 2023, the Spokesperson for Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families, Mr William Agyekum Acquah Asante sets the record straight that the original Mankata was a stranger and a hunter from the Ga State.
He noted that the late Mantaka came to settle on the land at Panpanso and took advantage to fraudulently register the vast lands of Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families together with the fourteen (14) acres of land given to him by the late chief of Apedwe Traditional Area, Nana Abrokwa.

"Base on the historical documentary envidence available, the original Mankata is a hunter and that he engaged in trading as well. During that time they were cutting timber for canoes at Odumase and that the original Mankata came to settle at Sansemi doing all these sorts of businesses," Mr Asante narrated.
According to him, it has emerged that the original Mankata entered into a business with Chief of Apedwe Traditional Area in the person of Nana Abrokwa.

And that Mr. Asante said during the course of their businesses, it was stated that Nana Abrokwa was indebted ito the original Mankata.
He said since Nana Abrokwa could not afford to pay the money, he [Nana Abrokwa] said he would pay his debt with piece of land that he said was located at Panpanso Krokese.
Tendering documentary envidence to support his claims,' Mr Asante noted: "In fact Nana Abrokwa gave original Mankata fourteen (14) acres of land at Panpanso Krokese and that 14 acres of land don't share boundary with Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families at Odumase /Kojo Fosu."

"But along the line,in the year 1913, an indenture was prepared and a concession site plan was developed and signed by Nana Sir Ofori Atta I, the then Okyehene and his elders, Apedwehene Nana Abrokwa and his elders ,Yaw Ntikora and his elders as well as those who own lands at various places including Odumase for oil palm plantation purposes after which at the expiration of the lease period that is 99 years, the land reverts back to the owners as stated in the document.

"The members of Mankata family deceitfully  used the said concession site plan that includes the land of Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families and fraudulently registered the lands into their name without our knowledge in 1988," Mr Asante noted.
Mr Asante stated that the claimed by the head of Mankata family, Mr Samuel Acquah Mankata that the Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families have not owned the said land in question at Odumase is not true.

Mr Asante was responding to the current outburst made by the head of Mankata family, Mr Samuel Acquah Mankata on Wednesday Friday 22, 2023 that the general public should disregard the claims by the elders and members of Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families that they are rightful owners of the lands at  Edumase Papasso.
In the report, the Head of the Mankata Family, the principal members and the entire membership of the Mankata Family have resolved to defend this ownership of the land located at Odumase-Panpanso.
They pointed that out that Mr Asante and his elders of Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families are trying to use any unholy and dubious means to annex title to the land at Odumase-Panpanso with all their strength, stressing that they cannot succeed.

Addressing journalists to set the record straight on matter, Mr Mankata noted that the tracks of the land located at Odumase-Panpanso belongs to the Mankata family, saying that the land is a stool land.
According to the Head of the family, Mr Acquah himself knows for sure that they had not have any land in Odumase-Panpanso describing him as a criminal.
He added that sometimes ago he brother who passed on even warned Mr Acquah that he didn't have any landed property on the Mankata family land in Odumase-Panpanso and he should stop trespassing on the land or he incur his wrath.
He stated that when they went to Kibi Court, Mr Acquah tendered in the court a document claiming that the land at Panpanso belong to their family but the court has not accepted the documents.
"Mr Acquah is a criminal l think he took money from someone and promised to sell the land to him so such should take his money back from Acquah since he didn't have any land at Panpanso belonging to his family," the chief stressed, tendering some documents to the press in relation to his claims.
But in a quick response, Mr Asante pointed out that three years ago, the members and elders of Mankata family and  Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families met at the office of their lawyer in Accra and it was agreed that the members of the Mankata family to prepare and sign the deed of surrender and transfer back the land into the name of Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families.
He explained that the deed of surrender means that the members and elders of Mankata family have fraudulently registered their family lands into the name of Mankata family and is reverting it back to the Amon Kwame family.
According to Mr Asante, he took Ishmael Mankatta and his elders to the Teacher Mante Police Station of the Ghana Police Service in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region for the redress of the matter.
Mr Asante stated that the claimed by the head of Mankata family, Mr Samuel Acquah Mankata that the Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families have not owned the said land in question at Odumase is not true.

According to Mr Asante, he took Ishmael Mankatta and his elders to the Teacher Mante Police Station of the Ghana Police Service in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region for the redress of the matter.
He pointed out that the case was transferred to the Coaltar  Police Command because that is where the Commander is stationed.
He pointed out that when they went to the Coaltar Police Command together with members of Mankata family, the two factions tendered all their documents covering the ownership of the land at Panpanso.
He indicated that upon thorough assessment and  examination of the documents from the two factions, the Commander made it clear to the heads of Mankata family, Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta and Mr Mankata Acquah that they should surrender the land at Odumase back to Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families.
He pointed out that senior Police officers declared that the document clearly shows that the lands at Odumase belong to Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families.
A couple of weeks go, Mr. Asante asserted that the two factions were also invited by the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly Security Committee which was chaired by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE),Mr  Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng himself along with Eastern Regional Security Committee.
Mr Asante said he briefed the meeting by tendering their document to support his claim that indeed the said land belong to Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families.
He stressed that he told the DISEC meeting
that their great-great-grand fathers bought the 5068 acres of the land which is located at Odumase (Kodjo Fosu) popularly known as Panpanso in Ayensuano District from the then chief of Apedwa Traditional Area, Nana Kwasi Jachi in the year 1897 which costs about 1000 pounds.
"I told the meeting that the chief of Apedwa in the name of Nana Kwasi Jachi received the delegation from the Oyoko Royal family led by Nana Amon Kwame and Nana Kwasi Amoani from Odumase (Kodjo Fosu) to take every needed necessary things to forever own these track of lands, even in the law court in the following years including 1909(Yao Ntikora verse Teacher Mante, Amon Kwame and ten others, 1913( Amon Kwame verse Kwame Obregyamah, Tetteh Ashong and four others), 1922(Amon Kwame verse Tetteh Ashong , Kwame Obregyamah and ten others), 1924(Amon Kwame verse JJ.OCQUAYE and AMON QUAO) and 1924(Amon Kwame verse Ayitey)," they explained.
According to him, all these cases were held in the Supreme Court in the era of Gold Coast for which Amon Kwame won all these cases saying that the pieces of documentary envidences were available at the national archives.
They pointed out that these 5068-acres of land legally became a property to Nana Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani to be precise on behalf of the Oyoko Royal family of odumase (Kodjo Fosu).
He stated that in fact it is evidently clear that Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta and Mankata Acquah has fraudulently registered  Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families land in the name of his Mankata family.
He said the senior Police officers and MCE at the meeting all testified to the argument that Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta and Mr. Mankata Acquah have  registered Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families land in the name of Mankata family.
In fact they have nothing to say.
With regards to his late brother Edward Asomaning Mankatta's issue ,l and my late mother, uncles, and other family members went to their palace and that the reason why we went there was on this same lands issue and his late brother said l have insulted him therefore  they are fining me one ram and GH2000.00 at that time. And l told them that l will never pay the fine imposed on me.
The reason being that the land in Odumase-Panpanso is ours and l have every right to visit the land at the times l have chosen because  the members of Mankata family have no rights to that land at Panpanso.
"....I have even told them at the palace in the presence of the current chief of Mankata family, Ishmael Asomaning Mankata including the so-called head of family Mankata Acquah that they don't have rights to land at Odumase," Mr Asante stressed.
On the claim that the Court has rejected the documents of Mr Asante, he said it is lies and fabricated story.
The court requested for receipt of payment for the search report the family has said it has paid half the amount the commission was charging but invoice was however tendered instead.
He added that so it was invoice that l on behalf of Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families took to the court and the court said that it needs a receipt and not an invoice.
"So therefore the claim by Mankata Acquah in his media reports that l tendered documents and the court rejected it, it is never true," he explained.
On the issue of Mr. Mankata Acquah describing Mr Asante as a criminal, Mr Asante said it is his own mind to say so.
He noted that he didn't have any criminal records in his life.
"I want to say that it is Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta and Mr Mantaka Acquah who may however fit that description of criminality because when they were to sign the deed of surrender document to return our stolen lands at Odumase back to Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families, the Mankatta head said to us that because they have protected the land for my family, as tradition demands,we have to pay an amount of GH¢ GH¢200,000.00 and a ram as rites to the Mankata family before they handed the land  back to Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families," Mr Asante explained.
According to Mr Asante, out of the GH¢ 200,000.00, the members of Mankata family requested from Amon Kwame and Kwasi Amoani Oyoko Royal families, they managed to pay GH¢150,000.00 to the members of Mankata family.
"I paid the money. But surprisingly after Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta on behalf of the Mankatta's family has taken the money they  failed to sign the deed of surrender documents. So who is a criminal here," he rethorically asked.
He added that "After taking GH¢ 150,000.00, for the past three years now, Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta and Mr. Mankata Acquah has failed to sign the document," Mr Asante revealed.
He pointed out that when Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta took the money and refused to sign the deed of surrender documents, he took him to Kibi Police Station and it was evidently clear that he took the money.
"And Ishmael Asomaning Mankatta even brought some of the money to the tune of GH 15,000.00 to the Police station that l have paid him. The Mankattas' owes us Gh¢ 150,000.00 that is the money that l paid to him," he stated
