Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi Secures Bail For NDC Parliamentary Aspirant  And Assembly Candidate
YESTERDAY whilst the District Level Elections were ongoing nationwide our indefatigable Regional Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi Esq was called upon again to redeem two of our NDC members from the grips of the police.

This time around it was one of the NDC Assembly Candidates Mr. Divine Kwesi Teye who had been arrested by the police and sent to the Koforidua Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service together with Hon. Ebenezer Teye Nartey an MP Aspirant.
Honourable Ebenezer Teye Nartey has been the Assembly Member for Otorkporlu Electoral Area since the past 12 years and decided not to contest again but this time to move up to contest to become the MP for Yilo Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region.
As a result Mr. Divine Kwesi Teye became the preferred Assembly Candidate for the NDC in the Otorkporlu Electoral Area for yesterday's elections.
However, the EC delayed in bringing in the materials for the elections yesterday but when they came they attempted to relocate the polling station to another place which was resisted by the community including the Assembly Candidate Mr. Divine Kwesi Teye and Hon. Ebenezer Teye Nartey.
In the ensuing misunderstanding Hon. Ebenezer Teye Nartey and Mr. Divine Kwesi Teye were both arrested.
The reason for their arrest was that they were interfering with the electoral process meanwhile our investigations show otherwise.
As a matter of fact the presiding officer of the EC decided to relocate and change the sitting area for the elections and to move it to another place which was unlawful.
The polling station for the elections which has been gazetted by the EC is located at the front of the house of Honourable Ebenezer Teye Nartey and the NPP Assembly Candidates were of the opinion that the location would not help them so they connived with the EC officer to try to move the venue to a different place which caused the misunderstanding with the community members.
In the process the DCE together with the Constituency Chairman for the NPP left the place and returned in the company of the Asesewa police who arrested the Parliamentary Aspirant together with Mr. Divine Kwesi Teye who is the NDC candidate in the elections and whisked them away to the Koforidua Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service.
Whilst in custody Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi our Regional Lawyer and Chairman of the NDC Eastern Legal Team was called to the rescue.
He quickly jumped into his car to the Regional Police Headquarters to secure bail for the two NDC members who had been arrested.
The Chief of Otorkporlu and his Elders were also there and were very grateful for the timely intervention of our Regional Lawyer.
This needless arrest which was pepertrated by the NPP together with the EC officials is something the NDC party must take seriously going into the elections in December 2024.
As a party we can't afford to lose this elections and must be ready to face any machinations from the NPP with connivance from the EC officials.
The two arrested persons who were granted bail are back home safely.
