Birthright Africa team led by GRAMMY Award-nominated multi-platinum rapper Jidenna Mobisson and cohort of 12 young Americans of African descent has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding(MoU) with the Ghana Tourism Authority to foster connection between Africa and the diaspora.

This is to engender a culture of exploration, trip and educational understanding of who they are. In support of “Beyond the Return”, a follow-up to Ghana’s successful “Year of Return” campaign, Jidenna and Birthright AFRICA are jointly partnering with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to create life-changing opportunities for people of African descent to connect with their cultural roots and legacy of innovation.

The Black Highway Birthright Program” is a 13-day journey where Birthright Scholars explore their heritage in NYC prior to landing in Ghana on Thursday, August 4th. Jidenna believes that the time has come where people of African decent must create the power deserved as Africans that connect the various network in academia and trade so as to foster development in Africa.

Walla Elsheikh, CEO & Co-Founder of Birthright AFRICA and Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority made mentioned of the fact that Ghana is the gateway to Africa and they are pleased to welcome students from all over the world to show what Ghana has to the rest of the world.

He looks forward to welcoming more students from the diaspora to share educational and cultural exchange programmes. Mr Akwasi Agyemang also said this collaboration is a part of the larger vision of Beyond the Return over the next 10 years which includes building on the momentum of the Year of Return.
