THE CHIEF of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah ll and thousands of residents living in Kwahu Tafo of the Kwahu East District in the Eastern Region have agreed to evict the  nomadic Herdsmen from their properties.

The residents and Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah came to the agreement to evacuate the Fulani Herdsmen from their community after an emergency meeting with the community members and leaders of Fulani Herdsmen 
 
This decision follows the untimely death of one citizen of Kwahu Tafo at his farm.

According to Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah ll, the Fulani herdsmen in the area are given an order to confine their animals in a ranch or the resolution will be at shoot every cattle on site if the herdsmen do not comply with the evacuation directives or take them away from their lands.

The traditional ruler noted that, the members of the community would be embarking on a total forcible evacuation exercise without leaving any cattle on their lands.
Following this announcement, he stressed the need for the Fulani herdsmen in the area to confine their animals in the ranch or take them away from the land.

He used the occasion to assure farmers of his commitment in stabilizing the situation to allow them return to their farms and added that, it will remain resolute in getting rid of the herdsmen in order to ensure that farmers are safe.

Nana Opoku Mintah ll called on government, Interior Minister, Member of Parliament of the Area and all the security agencies to come to their by way get rid of the Fulanis off their lands.

In an interview with the leadership of Fulani herdsmen present at the occasion,
Sariki Mohammed Abubakar, ALL KWAHU ZONGO CHIEF appealed to the Chief of Kwahu Tafo and their community members to reconsider the evaluation decision and expressed worry over the decisions taken by Nananom  and promised to help resolve the issue in a peaceful manner.
