Dormaa West DCE inspects ongoing projects, pledges to continue his predecessor’s work

The District Chief Executive for Dormaa West, Honourable Francis Kwadwo Oppong has directed the District’s Coordinating Director to as a matter of urgency get in touch with these contractors to know the problems so they can resolve the challenges and ensure the successful completion of these projects.

The District Chief Executive for Dormaa West, Honourable Francis Kwadwo Oppong has inspected the ongoing projects commenced under the leadership of his Predecessor Madam Mary Ameyaa.

He assured his commitment to ensuring the successful completion of all those projects during his tenure in office.

The ongoing projects include roads, educational structures, health facilities and water facilities.

He also inspected the Dormaa West District Court facility and the four (4) bedroom apartment accommodation for the judge who will preside over the court when completed, including the Ghana National Fire Service office complex which is at the completion stage.

At the Kotua-Kokumikrom road construction site, Hon Francis Kwadwo Oppong interacted with the Assistant Site Engineer for M/S New Adventure Limited, the firm in charge of the project, Alexander Amponsah to know if there were challenges facing their operations.

To Mr Alexander Aponsah, work has been going on smoothly and the community folks have been cooperative. He said, even though there were some misunderstanding over compensations for cocoa farmers who got affected, the issues have been resolved peacefully.

Mr. Amponsah was optimistic the road will be completed on time.  

He said, they have consumed twelve (12) of the eighteen (18) Months stipulated period and a higher percentage of the work has already been done which gives him assurance that they will complete of time.

The DCE Hon Francis Kwadwo Oppong  commended the firm for the tremendous work done so far and urge them to ensure value for money.

At the other locations of the tour, whiles some health facilities were faced with accommodation and limited bed capacity  wards, some of the educational facilities were also faced with lack of electricity insertion in their new blocks.

But the common challenge was that, most of the contractors for these facilities had abandoned site.

Meanwhile, the DCE has directed the District’s Coordinating Director to as a matter of urgency get in touch with these contractors to know the challenges and ensure the successful completion of these projects.

With the DCE on the tour were the Coordinating Director, staff from the Assembly, Party executives and folks .
