The Goaso District Police Commander in Ahafo Region, DSP Danso Abeam has advised mobile money vendors in the region to be cautious in their operation especially at night following the recent increase of attacks on them by armed robberies.

Mr Danso urged mobile money agents to consider a number of safety measures to avoid being attacked by robbers who have at times killed them.

The Police Commander speaking to Soireenews Sulley Dramani on phone explained that most of the attacks on mobile money agents are executed at night and the harm can be reduced if MoMo agents can start leaving work early.

He added that agents should stop allowing withdraws of millions of money by customers at night, saying it is a way to perceive if the agent has enough money on him or her before they can launch their attack.

DSP Danso Abeam said police have intensified their patrols in the area and also launched investigations to arrest the perpetrators.
