Evangelist Diana Asamoah has apologised for her comments about the Homowo festival.

The gospel artiste, while showing her support for Nana Agradaa's recent conversion to Christianity, encouraged the former "spiritualist" to stand firm and join her to clamp down on the celebration of the Homowo festival.

The comments weren't welcome by the Ga Traditional council who pointed out that the artist was trying to paint their sacred festival in a bad light.

They further maintained that all the traditional areas in all the parts of the country had their unique traditional rites and practices which were linked to their heritage and culture.

She was subsequently called out by Ga traditional council for what they deemed as deliberate insults against their revered festival as they could not understand why she would single out their festival out of the many available.

“We the elders of the Ga land have registered our displeasure with the comment made by the gospel artist Diana Asamoah against the god’s of the land”.

"As a result, the Ga traditional council has given two weeks ultimatum to Evangelist Diana Asamoah to openly come and retract her loose comment on Homowo or will face the consequences." The spokesman for Kwabenya traditional council had said.

She has now rendered an unqualified apology on her Instagram page.

In a self-recorded video, she apologised to the traditional authorities and their entire populace for speaking against the revered traditional heritage and culture of the Ga people.

According to her, she did not mean to cause any harm with her comments and she is now asking for the full forgiveness of the entire Ga-Adangbe Traditional Area.

"Please Forgive Me"

"As a person, we all make mistakes, please forgive your daughter/sister/mother/friend. I withdraw my statement made on Facebook live" she captioned the video.

Diana Asamoah, therefore, beseeched the Ga Mantse, the traditional rulers, queen mothers and the entire Ga traditional area to forgive her for her utterances.
