According to him, ever since he was voted into power the Constituency has been lacking development due to his absence and therefore as a matter of urgency if the law permits the EC should conduct bye-election for the them to elect developmental oriented MP to bring development to the people in the area.

The Communications Officer of Abuakwa South Constituency for the (NDC) has pleaded with Electoral Commission of Ghana to conduct bye-election since their Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Samuel Atta -Akyea has gone missing for the past years and no where to be found.
 According to him, ever since he was voted into power the Constituency has been lacking development due to his absence and therefore as a matter of urgency if the law permits the EC should conduct bye-election for the them to elect developmental oriented MP to bring development to the people in the area.
"We are complaining that our MP cannot be seen in the area for so many years ago. So in this regard, we are appealing to the Speaker of Ghana's Parliament, Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to, immediately declare Honourable Samuel Atta-Akyea seat 
for vacate to make the Electoral Commission to conduct by-election in the Abuakwa South," he added.
He added that, during his campaign he didn't give any number out to the people to call when they are searching for him, accused the NPP MP for taking the constituents for granted.
He said when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was an MP in that constituency, he didn't bring any development but Okyeaman has vowed to vote for anyone who compete in the name of NPP.
He accused Honourable Atta -Akyea for poor performance, saying that since the MP was elected the people in the constituency in Parliament, he has not done any monumental projects in the area.
 
"No single monumental or self funded project or programme that our MP has pointed that he has lobbied to be brought to the Abuakwa constituency," the NDC young politician stressed.
 
He further accused the MP of wasting time on issues not related to development in the area.
He noted that many residents in the area were complaining of the MP continuous habit of refusing not to pick their telephone calls placed on his self phone contact.
