COVID-19: Kwabre East MCE charges populace to faithfully adhere to health protocols

Honourable Osei Assibey Bonsu has started the covid-19 education from one church to the other on the necessity of observing the various health protocols to make Kwabre East a virus-free Municipal.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwabre East, Honorable Osei Assibey Bonsu has advised his residents to strictly observe the coronavirus protocols due to the deadly impact of the third wave; delta variant.

According to him, inhabitants of the Municipal are compliant during church services yet they go contrary on the safety protocols immediately after service, an act he believes that not justify their godly act hence the need to acquaint them that the health directives on the protocols are obligatory anywhere.

“The scene at churches is accepting because you can see everyone in their nose masks and the social distancing beautifully observed,” he said.

“The very moment church closes, that is where people forget the directives and do things their own way thinking the health protocols are always necessary at church,” he added.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah had earlier urged all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) to ensure the mandatory wearing of nose masks by the populace in their various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to curtail the spread of the COVID-19.

The Ashanti Region has, unfortunately, recorded severe active cases, hospitalization, and deaths. On 11th April 2020, active cases were 87 with 16 deaths yet as of 27th July 2020 the active cases had hopped to 1,217 with 297 deaths.

The MCE took the opportunity to appreciate the industrious effort of the assigning pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Mamponteng District, and encouraged the congregation to render the same support to the new pastor soon to be welcome.
