Ghana in a time of coronavirus

The Director of Elections for Essikado-Ketan constituency of the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the Western Region, Mr Kofi Wayo has stated that the Akufo Addo's government is not treating the corona virus as pandemic but rather big time business.

Per the words of the Director, there is no commitment shown and no common sense attached to the fight of the corona virus by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government.

Mr Kofi Wayo, further challenged that if there is any commitment to fight the pandemic, then school reopening should have been out of the picture by now.

"Even at the time this pandemic broke last year, the rate of the cases were not high.

"The president ordered for the closure of schools, now that the cases are high the kids have been asked to go back to school, so if I say there is no common sense attached to the fight of the corona virus pandemic I'm right to say that."

He told that the benevolent group who contributed to the Covid-19 fund are now disappointed after realising that government has no clue as to how to use the funds.

"I hope you remember the 90 hospitals this government said they were going to use the fund generated to construct, for the past one year have you seen the hospitals."

He advised that, Ghanaians should take the protocols serious and help fight the pandemic instead of looking up to government for help.
