Coronavirus: Korle Bu CEO Tests Positive

The Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Asare has reportedly contracted the covid-19 disease.

Unconfirmed reports from Graphic Online has it that Dr Asare has gone through the necessary protocols and is currently responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, The Minister for Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere in the Eastern Region, Dan Kwaku Botwe, have also been admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) awaiting their COVID-19 test results.

The education minister is said to have unwell for a couple of days and decided to go in for a second test after testing negative in a prior test on June 16.

A statement from the Education Ministry has however debunked reports that the Minister has already tested positive for the disease.

In other developments, two top Ghanaian officials who contracted the covid-19 disease -the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Lydia Dsane-Selby - are also said to be doing well and responding to treatment.
