Atebubu Amantin Municipal Ghana National Fire Command has revealed that the Municipality has recorded low fire outbreaks in the first two quarters of this year.

Assistant Station Officer II, Zakaria Kabori, said his outfit recorded 71% cases of fire outbreaks during the first two quarters of last year but only 28% cases have been recorded so far in this year.

This he believes is due to the hardworking nature of the fire personal working under his command. He applauded them for their hard work and urged them to continue with their services to God and mankind with the utmost dedication.

Station Officer II Zakaria Kabori also disclosed that the Atebubu Amantin Municipality has created a farm radio with the sole aim of educating residents of the community on the causes of fire outbreaks, how to prevent such incidents and measures to be taken should there be any.

An initiative he believes has yielded good results hence the recording of 28% fire outbreaks in the Atebubu Amantin Municipal within the first two quarters of 2021.

He told our reporter that the main challenge facing the fire fighting department is inadequate water to combat fire should the need arises.

"We sometimes have to go Prang or Gyato Zongo to refill our fire tenders which are approximately 21 kilometres making it difficult for us to quench the fire within the shortest possible time," Station Officer II Zakaria Kabori told.
