Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out Alisson, Thiago and Matip in the game against Sheffield United on Saturday night at Anfield.

Oxlade Chamberlain, Kostas Tsimikas and Virgil van Dijk are not available for the fixture with the latter been ruled out on a long term following Jordan Pickford’s careless challenge on the defender during the Merseyside derby last Saturday.

Asked specifically about the readiness of Alisson, Thiago and Matip, Klopp said, “I don’t know. We have training after the press conference, so we will see who is out there. You can only be in contention if you are in training.

“Look, in my situation, I don’t want to rule anybody out until someone tells me and so far, nobody told me. Maybe I should have listened better!

“But for me, everybody apart from the three I mentioned are in contention until somebody tells me different.”

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane helped Liverpool beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Anfield to restore their 13-point lead over Leicester City at the top of the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to continue his winning run against the Blades having offered Rhian Brewster to Chris Wilder’s side for a club-record fee of £23.5m to help their attacking line.

Sheffield would also be aiming for their first league win after picking just a point from five games played.
