Former Organizer of the New Patriotic Party in the United States, Ali Suraj has identified why the Member of Parliament for Asawase constituency, Hon. Mubarak Muntaka is angry towards the Electoral Commission’s (EC) exercise on the compilation of a new voters’ register in the country.

According to him, the decision utilized by the EC and backed by the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo will expose the flaws of the National Democratic Congress, which will slim their chances of retaining power in the subsequent polls.

"I understand he [Hon. Muntaka] is challenging his anger towards something. In the previous elections, the total register for the constituency was 108,000 but after the elections, Muntaka was leading the NPP by 6,000 votes,” he said.

“Put it on the record 6,000. We were marveled at the margin but wanted peace so we had to let it go,’ he added.

Hon Muntaka last Wednesday in an Appreciation ceremony for party members in the constituency after the new Voters’ Registration exercise briefed that the electoral activity was conflict-ridden created to favor members of the incumbent government and make a fuss of opposition partisans from registering.

He reiterated that the incumbent government in order to find its way in power adopted dubious means to enroll new names through a fresh register, which was an act to frustrate the opposition.

Ali Suraj has therefore debunked the MPs words, reflecting that Hon. Muntaka does not respect his people because of his investment in cheating during elections.

He revealed that the NDC representative of Asawase in Ghana’s parliament believes his reign has come to an end hence the abuses towards the incumbent government for no wrongdoing.

“When Nana Addo said we should change the register, it was vigilance the NPP demanded and nothing else. After the registration, we have been able to minus 7000 names out of the previous register in the Asawase constituency.

“So if you look at the 6,000 variance last time and the 7000 difference after the new register, it proves that the votes garnered were lies hence his disrespect towards us. 2020 will prove whether we were right or wrong.  The new exercise has loaded him with fear and he is desperate that's why he is spitting insults to everyone who questions him.

“His vote reduced. If it was 6000, he should rather have increased and it doesn’t make any sense.”
