Big Akwes has berated industry players who are rumoured to have caused the downfall of the legendary Agya Koo.

According to him, the action of the producers, directors, and actors deliberately sidelining Agya Koo led directly to the demise of Kumawood.

He mentioned produces the likes of Jones Aboagye, Samuel Nyamekye, as he said that they and their colleagues are responsible for pulling Agya Koo down.

In a shocking turn of events, Big Akwes mentioned that comedian, Lilwin was also part of the people that conspired to bring Agya Koo down.

This provides solid backing to Agya Koo's claim that some industry players had a meeting to sideline him.

A claim was disputed by Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye, the Chief Executive Officer of Miracle Films.

The CEO emphatically stated that only Agy Koo was responsible for his own downfall and there was no such thing as a plan to bring him down.

Samuel Nyamekye pointed out that Agya Koo's management was peddling lies when it accused Kumawood Producers, directors,

and actors of having a meeting with the sole purpose of sidelining Agya Koo and cutting him off the scenes.

He completely denied the allegations in an interview with Kumasi based Angel Fm Drive time hosted by Ike De Unpredictable.

“Ike, the issue is we (producers), directors, and the actors had a meeting to discuss how to work effectively when Agya Koo is not in Ghana. Agya Koo was a very good actor and Ghanaians always buy movies which he has featured Agya Koo because without Agya Koo they won’t buy the movie” Samuel Nyamekye explained.

“Due to that, Agya Koo became popular even outside Ghana so sometimes Ghanaians in other countries will invite him for shows and movies. When he (Agya Koo) travels, Kumawood producers, directors and actors cannot work because we have to wait for Agya Koo to come”.

“We the producers decided to take a risk and the risk was to work without Agya Koo. That is when he is not in Ghana we can still work but when he is not in Ghana then we can’t work without him. So the meeting was to meet the actors to reduce their price so that we can use them to take the risk but not to sideline Agya Koo,” he said.
