Adhere to Guinness World Record regulations

We consider the recent attempts by Ghanaians to break Guinness World Records (GWR) records in order to set new ones with a mixture of pride and disappointment.

Adhere to Guinness World Record regulations

While people like radio journalist Afua Asantewaa and chef Failatu Abdulai deserve praise for their bravery and tenacity, the fact that GWR disqualified them for breaking the rules is a sobering reminder of how important careful planning is.

The pursuit of a Guinness World Record requires more than just skill, endurance, or overwhelming support—the most crucial component is strict adherence to rules and regulations that are unbending for everyone.

Regretfully, the results thus far show that Ghana's candidates did not meet the conditions, which resulted in their disqualification despite their commitment and efforts.

Consider Chef Smith, who has just completed an incredible 820-hour culinary marathon. It is evident that he is passionate and devoted to his work. If he broke any of the guidelines governing his culinary marathon attempt, it would be a waste of time and he might be disqualified.

In addition to being devastating for Chef Smith, such a situation would be a lost chance for Ghana to commemorate an incredible achievement on a worldwide platform.

As the number of people vying to become Guinness World Records holders rises, Graphic Showbiz urges all current and prospective record-breakers to become familiar with the regulations governing their chosen pursuits and to follow them scrupulously in order to prevent failure.

Instead of damaging the name of our country with preventable errors, let's represent Ghana's greatest talent and resiliency internationally. Let's follow the guidelines.
