Accra hosts the 2023 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards ceremony

The agreement, which will last for three years, will make a sizable investment in Ghana's music and creative arts sector.At the opening event in Accra, Gyimaah Larbi, the executive secretary of the Merqury Republic, emphasized the significance of the collaboration.

"Africa's DJ scene has grown significantly over the years and has been at the forefront of promoting Africa's diversified music scene, highlighting the inventiveness and creativity of our music talents while promoting our music and culture.

"DJs have not received the attention and respect they deserve, despite the sector's enormous contributions to the expansion of Africa's creative, music, and entertainment industries.

Thus, the Ghana DJ Awards were established to give DJs a venue for celebration, support, nurturing, and the release of the vast and untapped potential of the industry.

We are pleased that Guinness Ghana has joined forces with us to elevate the Ghana DJ Awards. We are confident that this partnership will significantly advance Ghana's DJ and creative arts scene, highlight areas for development, and capitalize on the skills of up-and-coming DJs.

Yaa Amoah-Owusu, the marketing manager for spirits and RTDs at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, said her company was dedicated to the expansion and development of Ghana's entertainment industry and blossoming creative sector.

The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards this year will feature a number of fun extras to engage Ghanaians and celebrate DJs, including regional and campus roadshows, empowerment and capacity building clinics, the Smirnoff Ice Dome—a spectacular event held on numerous college campuses that puts the spotlight on Campus DJs—and other engagement opportunities.

Through the collaboration, Guinness Ghana will empower DJs, particularly female DJs, through DJ clinics and sessions to build capacity. The college DJ challenge will also help campus DJs discover and use their skills. In addition, there will be roadshows at the regional and campus levels.
