The Chief Executive Officer for Middle Belt Development Authority, Mr Joe Danquah has said the 1 million dollar per constituency is not a nine day wonder as speculated by some people.

He said this when he toured Jaman North Constituency to inaugurate some projects under the programme. Among other projects inaugurated include a six unit Classroom block at Sampa Presby Primary School, Newly constructed Health Centre at Asiri and Goka market.

In line with the agenda to ensure inclusively and accelerated bottom-up socio-economic development in the middle belt zone, the government of Ghana established the Middle Belt Development Authority(MBDA) by an Act of Parliament, Act 962 in 2017.

The Authority's mandate is to implement the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP) through the One Million Dollars per One Constituency fund to accelerate economic and social development in the Middle Belt Development Zone through the strategic direction in the planning and prioritization of development projects

Joe Danquah talked about how the government is committed to developing society through infrastructure

He added that more projects are about to be commissioned in due time.

The headmistress for Sampa Presby primary school Madam Gloria Sasah expressed sincere gratitude to the middle belt development authority for releasing the stress they have been through studying under a death trap building.

She added that the newly constructed structure will go a long way to improve teaching and learning in the school. She, therefore, pleaded with the Honorable Joe Danquah to furnish the school with adequate chairs to help the learners during classes hours.

Mr Adu Agyei Nicholas who is a nurse’ in charge of the Asiri health centre also mentioned numerous benefits derived from the newly constructed health centre.

During the inauguration of the Ultramodern Market Goka, the residents of the area expressed delight in the projects.

They commended the government for putting up the markets to make marketing at the community easier.
