Manchester United could turn to Watford for Ismaila Sarr if they fail to land Jadon Sancho.

The Hornets have been relegated after a challenging Premier League season but that doesn’t mean they will sell the winger for cheap.

Sarr joined Watford in 2019 from Rennes and signed a five-year contract in a club-record fee reported to be in the region of £30 million.

The Senegalese made 28 appearances for Watford and registered five goals including the 3-1 victory over Liverpool, which ended the Champions unbeaten, run in February 2020. Sarr put two past Alisson Becker.

The 22-year old has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Sancho's move could take a different twist

Kaveh Solhehol of sky Sports believes Manchester United might approach the Championship side for the winger if Dortmund refuses to accept their bid for Sancho.

Reports disclosed that Palace are preparing an audacious offer for the Senegalese following teams' refusal to approach the service of the forward due to his price value.

"Gary Neville was so impressed by Ismaila Sarr that he said if United don't get a deal done for Sancho, they should seriously look at Sarr,” Solhehol said.

“It think it would take a bid of around £50m to Watford to sell.

"There are reports in France that Crystal Palace want to sign him. He's a player that Liverpool and Wolves have looked at but he's on a long-term contract and Watford, having paid £35m for him, won't sell on the cheap."
