Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp is a “god-like figure” in the city of Liverpool.

The German guided the Reds to their first Premier League trophy in 30 years and a trophy presentation will take place at the Kop end after the Chelsea game on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

According to the former Liverpool defender and a pundit for Sky Sports, Klopp's words mean a lot to Liverpool fans across the world due to massive efforts he’s put up to give the fans and stakeholders of the club what they needed most.

“The fans have always believed Jurgen Klopp would deliver, no doubt about it. Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly were before my time, but I’ve never seen a manager have so much power of supporters like Klopp, and that’s at all the clubs in the country, not just Liverpool.

"Whatever Jurgen Klopp says it’s almost gospel in this city, he is a god-like figure. He’s done a monumental, gradual job over the last five years. Liverpool aren’t a club that could go and blow millions in the transfer market, so things had to be gradual.

“He’s been up against great managers in the Premier League, had no money to spend, and guided Liverpool to the Champions League and now the Premier League. He’s a special, special manager.”

Naby Keita got the nod ahead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as Klopp made one change for Liverpool following their 2-1 defeat at Arsenal last time out.

Lampard effected a change in post to the Chelsea team that beat Manchester United to reach the FA Cup final - Kepa Arrizabalaga replaced Willy Caballero.
