Rice transfer to Chelsea strongly revives
Lampard earlier dismissed speculations but it seems the Blues boss prefers a silent deal.
Frank Lampard’s love for Declan Rice has revived following Chelsea’s defensive fragilities.
The former Blues academy player has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge following a successful spell with West Ham United.
Lampard earlier denied a move for the player but Trusted transfer journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Rice’s transfer could happen.
"Declan Rice is a good player. I've known him for a long time, he was in Chelsea's academy but there's no talk," Lampard said at West Ham’s pre-match conference.
"I'll keep saying it about every player that we'll be asked about until this season is finished - there's nothing to say."

David has disclosed that the Blues boss has plans to convert the Hammers defensive midfielder to a top center back, a role he believes the 21-year old can adapt for the benefit of the FA Cup finalists.
“We know Frank Lampard is a big fan of Declan Rice of West Ham and would like to convert him from a midfielder to a top center-back,” he told the Tifo Football podcast.
“I know people in football who think he can become world-class in that position.
“West Ham will demand an incredibly high fee, sources have suggested in the region of £65-70million and they are in a strong position contractually.
“I don’t think that everyone at Chelsea is convinced by Declan Rice but he’s one that Lampard wants.”
