It is anticipated that musical compositions released between January 1 and December 31, 2023, by musicians, music executives, composers, and artists, would be submitted for consideration.

Submissions for works must be made through the www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com website of the Ghana Music Awards.

The deadline for nominations is set for Thursday, February 29, 2024.

The annual Ghana Music Awards were first held in 1999 with the primary goal of honoring the exceptional contributions made by Ghanaian musicians to the development and advancement of the music business. Due to sponsorship issues, the awards are now known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

Daddy Lumba (2000), Kojo Antwi (2001), Lord Kenya (2002), Bice Osei Kuffour (2005), Ofori Amponsah (2006), Samini (2007), Sarkodie (2010), Shatta Wale (2014), Stonebwoy (2015), Joe Mettle (2017), and Kuami Eugene (2020) are artists who have received the coveted Artiste of the Year accolades.

Diana Hamilton became the second gospel musician to win VGMA Artiste of the Year in 2021, following Ebony, who was posthumously honored in 2018.

The current VGMA Artiste of the Year is Black Sherif.
