Ghanaian artiste, Mzbel, has been granted bail late yesterday evening after being arrested in the afternoon.

She was arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command for claiming that TV presenter, Stacy Amoateng, is HIV positive because prophet Nigel Gaisie told her so.

The news excited many of her haters, who immediately took to their respective social media pages to rejoice. One such was Diamond Appiah. The actress said:

"Our Great-grandmother in the music industry a.k.a grey hair Oprega has been arrested n is currently being detained at the Police Headquarters… If u get diarrhoea mouth and a stinking attitude, police cells will always be ur second home..still popping the Karma champagne”

Upon getting home yesterday, the Mzbel intentionally shared photos of herself in her nightdress on her bed to mock her haters.

“If u prayed for my downfall, u should get a refund back lol, Well feel free to use me to trend some wai lol good night Mzbelievers.” She wrote. 

The upload was an attempt to deny that she had earlier been arrested, but Police Public Relations Officer of CID, DSP Juliana Obeng confirmed the arrest on Monday.

"Mzbel also known as Nana Akua Amoah is reported to have said Stacy is HIV positive per information she got from prophet Nigel Gaisie."

“Mzbel came to the CID headquarters on her own but she was officially arrested,” she said.

DSP Juliana Obeng also said the artiste had been cautioned on Section 208 of the Criminal Code which is on publication of false news. She affirmed that Mzbel was in police custody as of yesterday.

She is however expected to return to police custody this morning.
