Most Christians Fast Because of Hunger - Patience Nyarko

Patience Nyarko has comically stated that most Christians in Ghana only use fasting as an excuse to hide their daily hunger.

The artiste admitted to having done it while she was in a church without money to afford food.

According to her, hunger is a constant theme in the life of Ghanaians because of the state of things and religious people have a good excuse to fast because they cannot even afford to buy food in the first place.

“I’ve been a victim, so I know what I’m saying. When you see people on a park praying aggressively who claim to be undergoing a fasting and prayer session don’t always believe them; some are actually very hungry”.

This she said in an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9 FM’s NsemPii.

Patience Nyarko noted that she is the woman she is today because of the trials and travails that she has been through.

She recounted how she faced tough times that most people cannot imagine, the time where she had to lodge in a church for shelter because she could not afford food and accommodation.

“Staying in a church and not being able to afford food I just had to pretend to be undergoing a fast just so I don’t feel the impact of the hungry,”
