Men don’t cheat but Women Do -Sunyani Krontihene
Sunyani Krontihene says Akan culture permits a man to marry another wife but it is an abomination for a woman to take more than one man

The Krontihene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem says culturally it's women that cheat on their partners and not men.
Explaining further, the Sunyani Krontihene reiterated that in the Akan setup, it is laudable for a man to engage in extramarital affairs as no traditional set up will punish him for taking in another woman but it is women who will be asked to do a ritual to compensate the gods and her husband for cheating on him.
He said, in the Akan setup, men do not cheat but rather it is women who cheat.
His comments follow the controversies surrounding the legalization of LGBTQI in the country.
According to Nana, any woman who will cheat on his husband with her fellow woman brings curses to herself, her husband, and the entire community in which she resides.
On the other way round, even though according to Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem the traditional setup does not frown on men having more than one wife, it is a big taboo for a man to have extramarital with his fellow man, and as such Nananon will not give it a second thought in spelling such a man or woman from their lands.
The Sunyani Krontihene is by this issuing a strong warning to all members of LGBTQI who will consider settling in the Sunyani lands to rescind that decision with immediate effect for they will be ban as soon as Nana gets to know about their settlement.
