The National Coordinator of the Zongo and Inner Cities Development Secretariat at the office of the Vice President, Honorable Ben Abdallah Banda has disclosed that his outfit has signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Global Communities - Ghana, an international NGO to implement the USAID's Enhancing Water Sanitation and Hygiene in six regions in Ghana.

The regions included the five northern regions in Ghana and Oti region.

Honorable Ben Abdallah Banda reveals this in an interview with our correspondent Nana Anfreh Damanata in a telephone interview.

Under the memorandum of understanding, Global Communities - Ghana will select ten communities in every district within the beneficiary regions based on their water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) he said.

According to him the goal of the E - Wash activity is to accelerate sustainable improvement in sanitation and access to water and sanitation to ensure improved hygiene behavior in targeted districts of the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, North East, Savannah, and Oti Regions.

The National Coordinator of the Zongo and Inner Cities Development Secretariat, Honorable Ben Abdallah Banda was of the view that such partnerships tend to help the government and its agencies such as the Zongo Development Fund to reduce challenges that government alone can not shoulder.
