Zinedine Zidane will be in charge of Real Madrid next season.

In a discussion at the end of the LaLiga Santander campaign, the Frenchman and Florentino Perez agreed the former would stay on as head coach beyond the summer.

Los Blancos' 34th league title has dispelled any remaining doubts over Zidane's future and his second spell at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu will continue into a 2020/21 season.

"Zidane is a blessing for Real Madrid," Florentino himself said once Sergio Ramos had lifted the LaLiga Santander trophy last Thursday night.

Zidane has two years left on his deal at Real Madrid, but contracts have never been an obstacle for him.

He retired as a player with one year left on his Real Madrid contract and he resigned as coach in 2018 following a third Champions League victory in a row.

Pride restored

Zidane singled out LaLiga Santander as the trophy he wanted to win last summer, and he's delivered it.

There were difficult moments after the defeat to Real Mallorca and before the trip to Istanbul to play Galatasaray, but the Frenchman came through it.
