Iker Casillas believes that Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane will still remain at Santiago Bernabeu irrespective of how the La Liga title race ends.

The former goalkeeper of Los Blancos has jumped to the support of Madrid’s coach and according to him, "Zinedine Zidane can't be criticized for anything."

Soireenews and a number of high profile publications have reported that the Frenchman has informed his team that he will call time on his second stint in charge at Santago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

The 2020-21 campaign has been a turbulent and keenly contested race for the Los Blancos. The truth is not far fetched because the Whites will definitely lose their grip on the La Liga trophy should in case Atletico Madrid win their final game, but Casillas insists that Zidane should be immune to criticism.

The former Madrid goalkeeper doesn't feel Zizou’s legacy will be damaged if he leaves on the back of a trophyless season, given the fact that he has already won three Champions League trophies and two league titles to his credit.

Everyone was caught by surprise when the Frenchman came out to deny the reports of his impending departure after watching his side pick up the three maximum points at Athletic Club last weekend.

"How could I tell the players I'm leaving now? We're giving our everything for the title and I just say 'by the way, I'm off?"

"People outside the club can say whatever they like, but I would never, ever say that to my players."

Real still have an outside chance of defending their top-flight crown if they pick up a home win against Villarreal on the final day of the season.
