The Youth of Busunu vehemently rejected food items and money as gifts from the Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Honourable Samuel Abu Jinapor for the Eid Adha celebration.

The items were sent on Sunday, July 19, 2021, by some party supporters for distribution to Busunu and its surrounding communities and as soon as the loaded pickup car offloaded a number of the rice bags and some amount of money were packaged in envelopes given out, the youth expressed anger about the MP’s gesture and had to pack the bags of rice into the pick up again when it was returning from Langatri.

Busunu community is the second-largest in terms of population in the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah region.

In a video that went viral on social media in agitating for jobs and not rice because Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor promised them jobs in case he wins.

The youth were dream of getting jobs from the MP after the 2020 general elections.

In the wake of the agitations, some of the youth claimed the MP has never made a stop at Busunu after winning the seat as he used to before elections.

Soireenews Reporter Abdul Sammed Gurundari in a phone conversation with the Spokesperson of the Youth Seidu Sakibu Sejor said “we are angry because Lawyer promised us jobs that is why we went all out to campaign for him and also solicited our people to vote for him.

"At that time he used to sit with us and also stop to greet us anytime he is passing Damongo but after the election, he has never made a stop at Busunu and because Sallah is due you are bringing us rice, to do what?

"We need jobs as youth because most of us have finished school and have nothing to do.

"He promised to get us jobs and 7 months now no show”.

The youth had poured their frustration in quest of registering their displeasure for the MP to fulfil his campaign promise to the youth of Busunu.
