Desmond Blackmore has noted that Yaw Tog's words about making U.K's Stormzy more popular in Ghana are true.

The Black Avenue Muzik boss however noted that the words were unnecessary because Yaw Tog did not have to say them even though they were true.

According to D Black, there was no use stating the obvious anymore since anybody that understands music would know that Stormzy collaborated with Yaw Tog to increase his reach in Ghana.

After U.K grime artiste Stormzy came to Ghana for the remix of Yaw Tog's 'Sore' track, Yaw Tog claimed that he had made the international artiste more popular in Ghana by virtue of their collaboration.

He made me more popular in this market but I made him more popular too. We both did magic to ourselves and magic to our brands”. Yaw Tog's noted this in an interview on TV3 New Day while being asked what his collaboration with Stormzy meant.

His comments have driven critics to suggest that he is arrogant for suggesting that his collaboration would make a significant impact on Stormzy's career.

Sammy Forson, an entertainment critic, emphatically cautioned Yaw Tog by noting that he is too young to be doing ' loose talk'.

Some others have however humoured to the defence of the young artiste by claiming that he had said no wrong in his words since most people didn't know Stormzy in Ghana before the collaboration and even if some did know more people were aware of his brand after the collaboration.

D Black has now offered an alternate view on the matter.

In an interview with Takoradi based Connect FM, D-Black told host Ato Kwamina Otoo D’Gem that the words were true but unnecessary.

To be honest with you, I don’t think he lied, he told the truth. My opinion is that I don’t feel there was the need to say it at that point. It makes you look a certain way and gives a certain perception to the listener, but I don’t think he lied about it, it is the truth, he made him (Stormzy) more popular in that regard in Ghana, but I don’t think it needed to be said”. He maintained.

D Black was in the Western Regional capital of Sekondi- Takoradi to promote his new album ‘Loyalty’ alongside a signee to his label, S3fa.
